  1. Leeuwin Estate Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

"Another good Art Series cabernet. Indeed its quality is reliably high nowadays. Silken mouthfeel. Good fruit power. Ultra-fine tannin and impressive length. It’s not a big or burly cabernet but it impresses from the outset, and for all the right reasons. It’s creamy, chocolatey, curranty and varietal, its more herbal side tucked neatly within. Pure cabernet." 93+ PointsTasted : Aug18Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front

  2. San Marzano Manoro Primitivo Puglia Igp 2017

We tatsed this Primitivo just last week and loved it. It shows depth, concentration and loads of Zinfandel-like ripeness. Raisony slick with chocolate, dried herbs and spices with good length that finishes with tight (but supple) tannins and a hint of fresh roasted coffee. This is one for the Zinfandel fan but at this price it should suit mid-week pizza dinners easily.

  3. Ventisquero Queulat Reserva Carmenere 2017

This wine is notable for its delicious structure, great body, balanced structure and smooth, velvety tannins, which contribute great volume in the finish, with an aftertaste of chocolate and liquorice.

  4. Blue Poles Allouran 2015

"From relative obscurity some years back, to one of the more keenly anticipated releases, at least with TWF subscribers. Fair to say, they know their Claret from their Beaujolais. Blackcurrant, plum, menthol, perfume and lift, perhaps some stewed fruit, spicy biscuity oak. Medium bodied, deep plummy fruit, tobacco, plump tannin, juicy acidity, and fine pencil tannin and earthy flavours on the finish, perhaps some raspberry. Texture and drinkability is a highlight here.Rated : 93 PointsTasted : Mar18"Gary Walsh - The Wine Front

  7. Ravensworth Charlie Foxtrot Gamay Noir 2018

"Another cracking job up in Tumbarumba by the team at Johansen Vineyard. A super fun wine, loads of spice, river herbs and bright red fruits, bulging with flavour with such a lip-smackingly juicy palate. It's like spring in a glass and enjoy it right through the warmer months, chill it a little. ( I dont really know what river herbs smell like but they should smell like this.) 8. Frederick Stevenson Dry Red 2017

40% Cinsault, 29% Shiraz, 23% Grenache and 8% Mourvedre. A light and brigth red wine, little bit of trapped co2 - don't worry if there is jus the slightest fizz upon opening. A good dose of savouriness mixed in with it's crunchy red fruit, tea-like tannins and a salivating acid line, moreish down to the last drop.

  9. Koerner The Clare Red Blend 2017

"The 2016 was syrah and temp and the like, this Clare Red is cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, cabernet franc and malbec, from three vineyards, and a touch ripe at 12.9% versus 12%, and the difference (tasted side by side) is notable in structure and definition.  This trumps the prior. Fleshy red of juiciness and bright, crisp red and black berry fruit characters. Bouncy and almost tart in the palate, vivacious, young, fresh red of vivacity and crunchy texture. Light on in a way too, but has a cool, ease to drinking. Soft cassis and dark berries, touch of mintiness to close, maybe liquorice too. Real nice drinking. Fun stuff with a bit more to ponder.92 PointsTasted : MAR18"Mike Bennie - The Wine Front

  10. Prophets Rock Rocky Point Pinot Noir 2016

TASTING NOTES: Brilliant ruby in colour the Rocky Point 2015 shows bright red berry, cherry, floral and spice aromas on the nose leading on to a smooth velvety palate. Here the rich fruit flavours are complemented by spice, mineral and dried herb notes leading on to a long rich finish. A versatile food wine that will complement a wide range of cuisine, this wine is a great match with lamb, game and salmon and will continue to provide great enjoyment over the next 4-8 years.VINEYARD NOTES: The grapes were sourced from the two Prophet’s Rock estate vineyards in the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago. Extensive canopy and crop management was carried out during the growing season to ensure the grapes attained full physiological ripeness with good concentration and flavour. Yields were kept low across both sites and did not exceed 38 hl/ha or 5t/ha. This wine is principally from Rocky Point Vineyard is home to some of the steepest blocks in Central Otago, elegant vines grow on top of an underlay of schist rock providing high mineraltity and spice to the grapes whilst above the surface we see an abundance of wild thyme WINEMAKING NOTES: The grapes were handpicked and fermented by indigenous ‘wild’ yeast. The wine was hand-plunged during fermentation and then aged in French oak barrels from a variety of Burgundy cooperages and forests. ‘Wild’ malolactic fermentation took place in barrel and the wine was aged on its yeast lees before bottling on the 25th of February 2016.
