  5. Wickhams Road Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2018

"Raspberry, spice, a lovely gently herbal and floral perfume. Medium-bodied, orange peel and amaro flavours in with firm silty tannin, tang and depth to the fruit, and a particularly firm and long finish that shows a rare stamp of class at this price point. Whether you prefer the Gippsland or the Yarra is largely a matter of taste: it’s well worth having both in your weekday wine armoury, regardless." 92 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

  6. Hoddles Creek Estate Pinot Noir 2018

"Red fruits, hazelnut and spice, floral perfume. It’s light and perhaps a diffuse, at least as a young wine, but does deliver flavour, fine emery tannin, mouth-perfume, with a savoury autumnal finish of good length. Almost certain to build complexity and depth." 92+ Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

  7. Woods Crampton White Label Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

"A new entrant for Woods Crampton, I suspect, and to disambiguate it from the other Cabernet Sauvignon I’ve added ‘White Label’ to its name. Blackcurrant and blackberry, dried mint, toast and spice. It’s medium to full-bodied, supple, sweet and juicy with its plump berried flavour, has a little of that Eden Valley tinned corn/truffle thing happening, with maybe some tobacco and sage too. Tannin is fleshy and fine grained, and cleans up the finish  nicely. Good drinking about now too." 90 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

  8. Mt Difficulty Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2017

Winery tasting notes. As our vineyards are ageing we are starting to see additional complexity emerging each vintage, 2017 produced a perfumed Pinot Noir focused on dark berry and black cherry; brambly herb elements overlay a combination of violet and deep baronial florals. The wine displays breadth, focus and a fine plush finish. Savoury brambly blackberry introduces the wine, followed by a broad textured mid palate; this moves seamlessly into plush fine textural tannins. Dark cherry notes frame the finish.

  9. Patritti Lot Three Shiraz 2015

Classic 'Italians in the McLaren Vale', old school shiraz here. Fruit sourced from a single vineyard in Blewitt Springs, planted in 1969.My brief tasting notes, as scrawled at the WineCulture tasting bar; "Great looking, super 'dad' noseof black fruit here w/ sexy oak. I keep nosing it - so good. A silky, red fruit and chocolatey oak palate with a good wack of tannin. Classic." Liam

$376.09 per case of 12 bottles ($31.34 per bottle )

  10. Burn Cottage Pinot Noir 2016

"This is a terrific Pinot Noir - great to drink now despite the sneaking feeling it's going to get even better with bottle age. Totally seductive ripe cherry, berry and plum flavours with added complexity from subliminal floral, spice, savoury and herb. The texture is to die for and the wine has impressive power as evidenced by a lingering finish that won't quit." 98 Points, Bob Campbell, The Real Review.
