  2. Hentley Farm Clos Otto 2015

"Individual estate parcels, machine-harvested, destemmed and crushed, open-fermented with cultured yeast, 8 days on skins, matured in French oak (70% new) for 22 months, blended after 6 months in oak. An exotic bouquet with new shoe leather and a sprinkle of sultry spices, the full-bodied palate with supple blackberry fruits to the fore and an underlay of integrated French oak. There is a finesse to the overall texture, structure and flavour that is remarkable."97 Points, Halliday.

  3. Stoney Rise Pinot Noir 2016

"Think this is the third time I’ve tried this wine, the first two in informal situations at wine events, but this time, formal. I’m wearing my tasting cravat and smoking jacket. Slight smokiness and spice, raspberry, a little pencilly oak and dried herb perfume. It’s light to medium bodied, full of raspberry flavour, layered with a subtle earthiness and spice, fine grained tannin, and a pretty good finish. It’s a lovely thing to drink. Not overly complex or deep, but very tasty. I like the tannin that comes through on exit too.: structure is excellent. Comes up well with some air." 92 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

  4. Heartland Directors Cut Shiraz 2014

The raw power of the 2014 vintage is on display in this full throttle, rich and intense vintage of Directors’ Cut. The aromas of this young wine are as tempting as they are intoxicating. The depth of black forest fruit is framed by the smooth chocolate and vanilla of judicious oak. Directors’ Cut Shiraz is enhanced by the hints of spice so closely associated with the Langhorne Creek region. The lingering finish foreshadows a wine with many years of potential cellaring ahead…if you can be that patient. If not, enjoy! Winery Note

  5. First Drop Fat Of The Land Ebenezer Shiraz 2015

"Thoroughly seductive. It's saturated with dark berried flavour but it melts in your mouth. It tastes of milk chocolate and blackberries, earth and sweet plums, a peppermint character hovering thereabouts. There's tannin here, and ground coffee notes, and alcohol warmth, but it all feels cuddly, it all draws you in." 95 Points, James Halliday.

  6. First Drop Fat Of The Land Greenock 2015

Inky dark crimson, almost black at the core. Gorgeous dark, rocky/mineral black fruit. Smouldering and intense aroma of spiced and savoury dark fruit. Firm and chewy tannins enveloped by this glorious concentration without heaviness. There's both freshness and succulence on the finish and just a hint of dark chocolate. Amazing balance for a wine of 15% alcohol and with a lovely dry, mouth-cleansing finish. Stunning, 18.5 Points JancisRobinson.com

  7. Castagna La Chiave 2015

"Time in barrel has mellowed this wine considerably, taking its time in the glass to reveal sangiovese's short-twitch muscle of edgy tannin and sappy acidity. Plenty of nerve, too. Red fruit allusions shimmer around a kernel of exotic herb and spice, from cardamom, anise and clove. Sapid of flavour, beguiling of texture and long. This is a mellow sleeper needing air to awaken." 93 Points, Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion 01/08/2018."Sangiovese! An old clone found in a friend’s garden, brought to Australia in 1922, or so the legend goes. Now organic farmed at Castagna by two generations of family. Open ferment, into barrel that’s about 20% new oak, Bob’s ya uncle. Wonderful aromas suggesting red cherry, game meat, tobacco and potpourri. Medium bodied, succulent, lengthy and lightly juicy, given shape from ribs of light powdery tannin and set to more sour cherry and spice character in flavours. Has a seriousness to it, understatement and elegance. A refined, compelling wine of detail, tannin prowess and class. Excellent – one for the trophy cabinet.95 Points"Mike Bennie, The Wine Front - Tasted Jan 2019

  8. Castagna Genesis Syrah 2015

"Beechworth. Biodynamic farmed. Traditional winemaking, per se. Syrah. Castagna. “You know the drill”, in the words of Dylan from 90210. A mesh of red berries, red plum, game meat, sweet earth, clove/cinnamon and faint floral notes all conspire in bouquet. Fleshy in the palate, inward concenration but only a lick over medium weight. Mouth-staining just-ripe red fruit flavours and lingering spice, a web of fine powdery tannins drawing things a little taut. It’s an excellent wine, almost a pinosity, but wholly in the zone of fine syrah wines.95 Points"Mike Bennie, The Wine Front - Tasted Jan 2019

  10. Wild Duck Creek The Dabbler 2015

"Winery Notes: The Dabbler is a single vineyard wine made from blending Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere grown at our Adairs Lane vineyard, 4 kilometres from the winery. Adairs Lane Vineyard is situated in the south-west of the region which is cooler than the north. Growing on clay loams over sandstone and mudstone, creating a wine of finesse and vibrancy whilst maintaining our signature textural complexity. A wine that can be consumed for well over a decade."Juicy, immediate, red-frutied  more-ish red here, seasoned with just a lick of new oak to give it that signature Wild Duck Creek vannilin flair. Delicious.78% Cab Sauv and 22% Carmenere from the heathcote - first one of these I've seen!-Liam
