  1. Pooley Pinot Noir 2017

"Exhibiting bright vibrant red fruit with aromatics that leap from the glass. Primary red fruits dominate the palate with, complex layers of spice, cedar and plum. Fine tannin and acidity draw excellent length giving the palate a truly rewarding finish." - Pooley Wines

  2. Unico Zelo Excarpos Nebbiolo 2016

Interesting label design. Slightly creepy, but bold and striking. Twitchy levels of volatility here, but that often comes with the territory. Poached strawberry, cherry, fennel, walnuts, dried flowers. Full flavour, toffee apple, stewed red fruits, but savoury at the same time, with nutty flavours and leather in the mix. Tannin is nicely done, a light brick dust coating, and a solid finish. It’s a very interesting wine. Quite like it for its points of difference. The Wine Front.

  3. Unico Zelo Taboo Merlot 2017

Winemaker's Note:Always loved, but never admitted - Merlot is one variety we'll always continue to craft. From a clay-loam site, peppered with quartz in Lobethal, established in the early 1990s, this is a specialist Merlot vineyard - and a wine with love to surprise people with! Firm texture and herbaceous vibes!

  7. From Sunday Milla Pinot Noir 2018

Winery Note:"Sam manages this Organic Vineyard in the Adelaide hills that just has some really beautiful fruit, in particular this super rare german clone of pinot noir (more about this below). We wanted to show off all the work he has done in the vineyard and create a really vibrant, fresh and juicy wine. To really showcase the fruit and nothing but the fruit this wine was made with super low intervention. Indigenous yeasts, open fermenter, no oak, no additions, minimal filtering, minimal sulfites. It's the kind of wine we like to drink. In the summer whack it in the fridge for 20mins. Delicious. From Sam the Viticulturalist: Vineyard is in the Southern Adelaide hills bordered by McLaren Vale, Kuitpo forest and the Fleurieu peninsula. The ridge is unique as airflow drains through in the evenings from the coastal breeze of both peninsulas, lowering the temperatures dramatically overnight allowing even ripening throughout the season. The vineyard is low input chemically but high input mechanically as in lots of hand manipulation to get the canopy and crop load perfect. The clone is GM18 which was selected in the Geisenheim University(Germany) trials on Pinot Noir for its loose bunch structure and is bright fruit characters, one of only a couple of known plantings of this clone in Australia. The soil is clay over ironstone which allows it to retain moisture in the root zone but drain excess through the rock layer which inhibits the soil from becoming anaerobic hence giving the vines amazing access to nutrients from the soil solution."

  8. Eperosa Stonegarden Shiraz 2017

"Includes a cheeky 5% Malbec, and comes from a vineyard planted in the 1860s and 1950s. As an aside, it’s great to see wines coming out of the Barossa that feel more ‘natural’ and not tricked up in the winery so much, and not ashamed of tannin. Plum, dried roses, a sweet earthy thing going on, liquorice and vanilla. It’s full-bodied, flooded with ripe plum and dark cherry, but also plays meaty and earthy, with a luxurious suite of fat graphite tannin – certainly has a stony/mineral feel to it – lovely unobtrusive acidity, and a very long perfumed finish, slick with ripe tannin. In short, it’s very bloody good. Very." 95 + Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

  10. Chateau Margaux 1990 1500ml

"Absolutely compelling in two tastings of this vintage, the 1990 Margaux is composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. The extraordinary seductiveness, complex aromatics, and purity it exhibits lead me to believe it has reached its window of full maturity. Medium-bodied, with layers of concentration, stunning blue, red, and black fruits intermixed with spring flowers, a subtle dosage of new oak, and a distinctive personality that is elegant while at the same time powerful and substantial, this is a multi-dimensional wine that was extremely approachable and drinkable in both tastings I had of it. The color remains a healthy, even opaque bluish/purple, but there is no reason to hesitate to drink it. It should evolve for another 30-40 years, so there is no hurry either. 99/100"Robert M. Parker Jr - Wine Advocate
