  1. Dowie Doole Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

"Individual blocks from estate vineyards fermented and matured for 18 months in French oak (17% new) before blending. Clear varietal character on both bouquet and palate is immediately established, cassis to the fore. The tannins have been polished, and oak was never going to be an issue. A medium-bodied cabernet offering each way drinking - now or later." 94 Points, James Halliday.

  2. Wynns Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 1990

"A firm, robust cabernet whose sweet, lightly herbaceous and meaty presence of dark plum, cassis and dark olives is knit with cedar/ chocolate / vailla oak and supported by a grainy, drying grip of slightly raw-edged tannin. Dense concentrated, with light currant- like undertones, it's bruising young wine that needs plenty of time in the cellar." 94 Points, Jermey Oliver, Wine Annual 2009.

  3. Wynns Cabernet Sauvignon 2000 1.5l

"Very good red-purple; firm, classic blackcurrant and earth varietal character in the mainstream of Coonawarra; the palate is powerful and rich, with blackberry, mulberry and blackcurrant fruit flavours held together in a strongly structured wine; plenty of tannins, and the oak is by no means overplayed." 93 Points, James Halliday.

  4. Bleasdale Mulberry Tree Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

"Vibrant colour; pure cassis fruit leads the way on the bouquet and medium-bodied palate, but when you look behind the stats and find harvest baumes from 13.2 to 14.1 and cap management in the fermenters you realise the nature and extent of Paul Hotker's magical touch." 95 Points, James Halliday

  5. Kilikanoon Killermans Run Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Appearance: Brick red in colour with youthful crimson hues.Nose: Cassis, tobacco leaf and red berries predominate the aromas, well supported by cedary and spicey oak notes.Palate: Richly flavoured and textured, the dark fruits, hints of fresh leaf, tobacco and subtle French oak toast in perfect synchronicity with the fine grained tannins and balanced natural acidity. A long and persistent finish, that will be further enhanced by carefull cellaring.

  6. Vasse Felix Tom Cullity Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec 2014

"I couldn’t see the fuss at first – and then it hit me. It’s a blend of  80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. It sees 62% new French oak and while there’s oak to be tasted here, the fruit has largely soaked it all up. It’s a cracking wine. It seems light at first, both in colour and flavour, but as it breathes it blossoms and once you’ve spent time with it then it really begins to boom. The power is all under the bonnet; there’s nothing particularly flashy about it. It tastes of camphor and blackcurrant, mint, anise, black olive, bay leaves and smoky oak. Tannin is a kind of crescendo of its own, though it’s not an island: there’s fruit here, gloriously ripened, picked just before it went too far. Length here is quite outstanding." 96 Points, Cambell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

  7. Patrick Of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 1.5l

Slightly unconvincing colour, but has the typical slightly earthy regional characters that progressively emerge with age; the medium-bodied palate is austere rather than fleshy, but has good balance and length. 90 Points, James Halliday.

  9. Patrick Aged Riesling 2011

"Light straw-green; has started on an unhurried journey to full maturity, the engine of crunchy, crisp acidity carrying the green apple and citrus fruit, lightly buttered and browned toast in the shadows of the finish. Drink now if you wish, but another 3-5 years should see it close to its peak." Tasted Jan 2016. 95 Points, James Halliday.
