  3. Prophet's Rock Pinot Gris 2017

Winery notes. A wide spectrum of aromatics from pear and white peach, citrus, quince and spice notes with an underlying minerality. These aromas are echoed on the palate, highlighted by crisp acidity and a long finish. The texture, freshness and concentrated aromatics mean that this wine will harmonise will with a wide range of dishes. Consider white meats, seafood and fish, the wine will also work well with mildly spiced dishes.

  4. Colmar Estate Pinot Gris 2017

"Light pink-salmon colour, with a spicy stone fruit bouquet, which has hints of lychee and nectarine. The wine is rich and full, with intense flavour backed by well-judged phenolics. The finish is lingering, dry and harmonious. Very smart wine."Huon Hooke - The Real Review

  6. Vinteloper Pinot Gris 2018

WINERY NOTES. It's like the Muhammad Ali of Pinot Gris. Float like a butterfly. Sting like a bee. We know wine can be transcendent, and after initial bursts of freshness, our Pinot Gris is all about the funk and soul. Taking its cue from the faint hue of orange/grey from extended skin contact, the aromas of poached pear and peach jump straight out of the glass. In the mouth the stone fruits are there, with cinnamon and vanilla pod spice, building generosity as it unfurls.

  7. From Sunday Pinot Gris (skins) 2018

Skin Contact...what does that mean? Well, rather than pressing the juice of the grapes straight away so the wine runs clean, these guys leave the skins in contact with the juice. What that does is give the wine some extra dimension in terms of tannin and mouth feel. Smells like Pinot, there is a lick of orange, mandarine, blossom aromatics that flow to a palate that hints at Pinot Noir with citrus and apple peal characters. It is delightful.

  8. Stefano Lubiana Pinot Gris 2018

Pours out to be a lovely rose gold colour. The nose offers an abundance of ripe stone fruits, nashi pears, musk sticks, florals and sweet baking spices. A short time on skins give this Gris texture on the palate, coupled with flavours of quince, pear, cassia bark and sweet spices, hard not to love. This is text book gris, not a hair out of place. Gaby, Wine Culture.

  10. Derwent Estate Pinot Gris 2018

Picked at flavour ripeness, the grapes were in perfect condition on arrival at the winery where they were crushed and cold soaked for several hours, then pressed with the utmost care. The juice was then fermented at a very low temperature to enhance flavour retention. Once ferment finished the wine was Lees stirred daily for four weeks to add complexity and texture. Although barely noticeable, a few grams per litre of natural grape sugars have been retained in this wine to balance the acidity.Aromatic and elegant on the nose with a tight clean acidity on the palate, this wine is showing classic Pinot Gris character made in the Alsace style.
