  2. Ls Merchants Pinot Gris 2018

It’s got that ripe fruit character, nashi pear, orange oil, mandarin skin and delicate florals that remind me of a high quality Alsantian Gris.Oily texture and great intensity of fruit on the palate, citrusy acid keeps thing fresh. If you are looking for a white with a bit more body, this one is for you. Lots to love here.

  4. Derwent Estate Pinot Gris 2018

Picked at flavour ripeness, the grapes were in perfect condition on arrival at the winery where they were crushed and cold soaked for several hours, then pressed with the utmost care. The juice was then fermented at a very low temperature to enhance flavour retention. Once ferment finished the wine was Lees stirred daily for four weeks to add complexity and texture. Although barely noticeable, a few grams per litre of natural grape sugars have been retained in this wine to balance the acidity.Aromatic and elegant on the nose with a tight clean acidity on the palate, this wine is showing classic Pinot Gris character made in the Alsace style.

  5. Hoddles Creek Pinot Gris 2018

94 Points. The Wine Front, Gary Walsh. One week on skins and 90% whole bunch ferment. I’m told this wine is on allocation now. Amazing.I love seeing a Gris/Grigio with plenty of colour and this one is distinctly coppery. Brown pears, musk and spice, but kind of subdued, and more ‘winey’ than simply ‘fruity’. Light to medium bodied, fine acidity and lightness in the mouth, with an almost ‘airy’ feel, though not so many faeries. Gentle drag of tannin, almost a rosehip perfume, and a subtle earthiness to close, as the tannin tugs softly on a long finish. It’s a wine of fragrance, delicacy and complexity, yet has a quiet strength about it too. So very good. The cooler year has wrought a finer wine in 2017 than 2016, which is no better or worse, simply different.

  9. Moorooduc Estate Pinot Gris On Skins 2016

It really is rose in colour. This is what Pinot Gris looks like when you make it in the same way as you make Pinot Noir. It's all natural fermenty, texturally interesting but frangrance filled stuff so drink it lightly chilled to allow all the flavours to come through. Brilliant!
