  2. Landhaus The Saint Shiraz 2016

Once again this exudes full-bodied charm. Rich, ripe, chocolaty, spices, dried herbs, excellent length and balance and structured. This is built like a fine mahogany wardrobe. It's warm, smooth and rich and built to last with detailed inlays of fine-grained tannins.

  4. Rusden Driftsand Red Blend 2018

Winery Note:"The great ‘All-rounder’… spicy, savoury, generous fruit. On the nose there’s loads of rich fruit characters and the gentle spice gives the wine a savoury edge. The palate is medium-bodied with sour cherry, apricot & some dark berry fruit. Ultra slurpable, a classic GSM style fit for any table. Lovely finish with gentle tannin and good length."

  5. Woods Crampton White Label Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

"A new entrant for Woods Crampton, I suspect, and to disambiguate it from the other Cabernet Sauvignon I’ve added ‘White Label’ to its name. Blackcurrant and blackberry, dried mint, toast and spice. It’s medium to full-bodied, supple, sweet and juicy with its plump berried flavour, has a little of that Eden Valley tinned corn/truffle thing happening, with maybe some tobacco and sage too. Tannin is fleshy and fine grained, and cleans up the finish  nicely. Good drinking about now too." 90 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

  7. Woods Crampton Pedro Gsm 2018

"20% whole bunches, unoaked, preservative free. Lovely wine. So much spice, flow, fragrance. It’s like taking a big jump into a box full of woodsy spice and pot pourri. Just so much deliciousness. Worth every cent. It opens a bit grumpy straight from the bottle but 15 minutes later and it really starts to sing." 91 Points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

  8. Cirillo Estate The Vincent Grenache 2018

Marco Cirillo decided to invoke a massive turning point for this wine with picking leaner the gist. About a third of the pick is quite young and fresh, low alcohol, briskly fresh and then there’s some riper material. From 1901, 1906 plantings – remarkable. All carbonic maceration here. "Rich red fruits, sage and spice, has intensity and a salami-like savoury edge. Dense, minty, tannin is fleshy and fine-grained, menthol and dried herb on a long and firm finish. A lot of character, and verity of fruit. Really good." 93 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

  9. Woods Crampton Old John Shiraz 2017

"Shiraz with a dash of Spanish flair". The later being that of Bonvedro in this mix, sourced from the Barossa Valley ( 60 year old vines ) & Eden Valley ( 55 years ). Black and purple fruits, with herbaceous mint characteristics and a grind or two of black peppercorns. Nothing over-weighted though. The palate is lush with ripe black fruit and aniseed followed by fine dusty tannin continuing into the night. A dinner companion or a fun drink on a weeknight. Under $25 it’s a bargain with plenty of intrigue.  17 / 20, Wine Culture.
