  2. Clos Leon Bordeaux Rouge 2015

90 Points, Wine Front, Gary Walsh, "I believe this made to spec for the importers. It’s right bank, with fruit sourced near to Saint-Émilion. 100% Merlot aged in one and two year old oak barrels. 2015 a good vintage for Bordeaux. Plum and redcurrant, touch of liquorice and violet perfume. Medium bodied, attractive plum and red fruits laced with coffee cream, some dried herb and black olive, pleasant grip of earthy tannin and flavour, clean finish of moderate length. Easy to drink, affordable and has typicity of grape and region. Recommended."Fantastic balance of fruit, oak and tannin. Bellows with plummy fruits and sweet earthiness and dried herbal edges packed in cigar-box-like aromas that make for a terrific Bordeaux classique. Savoury, spices, dark plums and fresh tannin lift make for a very enjoyable drink indeed.

Tasting notes: Extremely attractive deep, dark ruby in colour. The Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend, sourced on the Chateau’s stunning plateau, reveals a complex bouquet of red and black fruits, intermingling with smoky, mocha notes. The fresh, fruity and unctuous palate, with its remarkable finegrained tannins, shows no hint of harshness, despite the wine’s depth and concentration. Long and well-balanced on the finish.
