  1. Bouchard Pere & Fils Bourgogne La Vignee Rouge 2014

Terrific value Burg here. Bright chery and red fruits on the palate with a lithe, silky tannin structure and great length. There is a nuance of forest floor and gaminess and characteristic cranberry acidity too that makes for a great balanced Pinot Noir.

  6. David Moreau Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2014

"This is a lovely bright purple in the glass with a ruby glow, with real elegance to the red fruited nose. There is a lovely mouth feel too, very gracious and harmonious. It offers a little luxury and has good richness and finesse for a Bourgogne and it finishes with lovely freshness and vibrancy. All in all a terrific Bourgogne rouge and pretty good value too." - Importer's Notes

  10. David Duband Bourgogne Hautes Cotes De Nuits Cuvee Louis Auguste 2015

www.burghound.com, Rated: Outstanding top value, 86-89 Points, "A fresh and pretty nose features notes of red currant, cherry, earth and ample floral influence. The racy and intense middle weight flavors display a subtle minerality on the attractively textured, balanced and lingering finish. This is a lovely effort for its level and worth a look." "David Duband, who exploits, among other vines, the former Jacky Truchot parcels, told me that 2015 "basically gave us a near perfect growing season that, much in the same way that 2005 did, produced fruit with high maturities but also high acidity, which is very rare in Burgundy. I chose to begin picking on the 5th of September and brought in super-clean fruit though yields were disparate, which is to say they ranged from 25 to 43 hl/ha. Sugars were strong without really being high and most wines came in between 12.5 and 13%. One major difference for me between 2005 and 2015 is that in the former vintage I used no whole clusters in the vinifications but in 2015 I used between 60 and 90%. Stems of course don't make or break a given vintage but purely from a stylistic standpoint, I prefer my 2015s. That said, I suspect that they will behave in much the same fashion as did the 2005s, which is to say that they're pleasant and charming now but my feeling is that they will close down once they're bottled and when they will reemerge is anyone's guess. When they do though, collectors will be in for a treat as everything is present for the wines to be great in time." The Duband 2015s are almost all very good and several are absolutely first-rate and I would recommend them to you."
