  1. David Moreau Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2014

"This is a lovely bright purple in the glass with a ruby glow, with real elegance to the red fruited nose. There is a lovely mouth feel too, very gracious and harmonious. It offers a little luxury and has good richness and finesse for a Bourgogne and it finishes with lovely freshness and vibrancy. All in all a terrific Bourgogne rouge and pretty good value too." - Importer's Notes

Le Birlou is a magical blend of Chestnuts and Apples liqueured into a delicious drink that goes just as well straight on ice or blended with you favourite sparkling wine, drizzled on ice cream or add just a dash to your next cocktail for a flavour explosion. From the Burgundy region made famous for premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this is an oddity of the region that makes it even more fun.

  4. Jean Louis Chavy Bourgogne Chardonnay 2016

Whilst Chavy’s have been living in Puligny Montrachet for over 200 years it was not until 1986 that Gerard Chavy started to estate bottle his own wine (previously the wines were sold to negotiants). Now his sons Jean-Loius and Alain carry on the tradition. Bright, fruit of white peach and nectarine flow onto the palate that zips along with fresh acidity and ample length. A great value entry level Burgundy from this Puligny Montrachet based winery.

  5. David Duband Hautes Cotes De Nuits Cuvee Louis Auguste 2017

’A pretty and quite airy nose reflects mostly notes of various red berries and floral nuances. The sleek, intense and subtly mineral-inflected lighter weight flavors possess a refreshing and bright finish that should enable this to drink well young and with a few years of age. 7. Virgile Lignier Michelot Axelle Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2015

Not sure why Virgile Lignier has decided to put his Chardonnay into a frosted bottle but it's what's inside that counts. Crisp, full-bodied though with citrus, powerful racy palate smash. The Lignier family have deep roots in the village of Morey Saint Denis and own some of the very best vineyard sites in this village, and also in the 2 neighbouring villages Chambolle Musigny and Gevrey Chambertin. Virgile’s father and grand-father had always produced wine and sold it to negotiants until Virgile started working with his father in the early 1990’s and he decided to sell the wines himself. Now with almost 20 vintages of experience Virgile has moved the domaine to fully organic viticulture and is producing what many believe to be the best wines of this prestigious village.

  8. Labruyere Prieur Bourgogne Rouge 2016

A brooding and ripe if attractively fresh nose combines notes of plum, violet and earth. The rich, concentrated and entirely serious medium weight and solidly dense flavors deliver fine depth and length on the mildly rustic finish where a hint of warmth surfaces. This is really very good and would make a fine choice for a house red.
