$ 23.95 (available) MR RIGGS VIOGNIER 2005:The Adelaide Hills material was hand picked, then crushed, de-stemmed and around 420 litres/tonne (approximately 60% of the juice) was drained into 3-year-old French oak barriques with the balance of the juice and skins being co-fermented with Shiraz . The only addition made was a small amount of SO2, with the cloudy juice starting to ferment within 24 hours, the ferment ticked along beautifully to dryness, with the malo starting on its own accord as well. The Langhorne Creek component was also crushed and drained with fermentation being completed in stainless steel with added yeast giving a contrast of styles to blend with. It's an excellent result, and just a pity there wasn't more fruit available.
