  1. Moss Wood Amys 2015 375ml

TASTING NOTES: Colour and condition: deep brick red, in bright conditionNose: lifted dark fruit aromas of mulberries and blackcurrants, backed by some spicy, white pepper notes from the Malbec and musk-like perfumes from the Petit Verdot; complex cedar and tarry notes in the backgroundPalate: As with the nose, dominated by dark fruit notes, with juicy blackberry and red currant flavours; the acidity and tannin are firm but not in any way aggressive and are well balanced.91 Points - BOB CAMPBELL, "A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec and petit verdot. An approachable wine with appealing sweet plum, berry and spice flavours. Fine tannins give a drying finish, but the wine is still very accessible."

  2. Deep Woods Shiraz Et Al 2014

"The et al is Malbec and Grenache. No shortage of flavour or impact here. Blueberry, tar, liquorice, dark chocolate, gum leaf and spice. Full bodied, silky mass of tannin, alcohol shows its hand, but keeps itself more or less contained, dark chocolate and blue fruits, and the purple earthy flavour of Malbec really lifts the Shiraz. Bitter chocolate and savoury flavours run long on a silty tannin finish. A lot of wine for the money here. " 91 Points, The Wine Front.

  6. Fraser Gallop Semillion Sauvignon Blanc 2017

“A racy vibrant lighter style of SSB, but still with plenty of intensity through the palate. Crunchy lemon zest and tropical notes with the faintest hint of herbaceousness. Gets a little barrel fermentation which adds that subtle textural feel on the mid palate. Excellent.” 92 Points, Ray Jordon.

  7. Woodlands Cabernet Merlot 2015

What Huon thinks...90 Points, "Deep, youthful purple/red colour and a floral, violet-packed aromatic bouquet. The tannins are very tight and slightly sappy, a little on the green side of the ledger, and there's a hint of bitterness on the follow-through. Decent cabernet."  "New line here? Or just a label change? The modest folk at Woodlands seem to be spawning quite a few new labels these days. Very good Cabernet at a fair price. Blackberry and dark chocolate, a little dusty cedar oak, mint and tobacco. Medium bodied, cool, calm and composed, rich with dark fruits mainly (some red) and savoury flavour, but light on its feet. Gentle drag of tannin, fine acidity, and a grainy and gently sappy finish of excellent length. You’re laughing here." 93 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.

  8. Woodlands Cabernet Franc Merlot 2015

94 Points, Gary Walsh, Wine Front, "I really enjoy the Woodlands Cabernet Franc dominant wines, and this wine in particular, may be perhaps my favourite in the range. It’s such a lovely honest drink. Blackcurrant pastille, raspberry and raspberry tea, a little spice and black olive, maybe some violet. Medium bodied, juicy and fine, lovely pastille character and ripe raspberry, but savoury too with the black olive and sweet tobacco savouries. Tannin sits comfortably inside the wine throughout, and the finish is fresh and long, and fetchingly earthy. A delight to drink."

  10. Cape Mentelle Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Winery Notes:NOSE: Varietal sauvignon notes revolving around cassis buds, juniper berries and cracked black pepper. The nose then opens to complex fruit ranging from zesty white grapefruit to hints of lychees, lifted by ethereal oral notes of jasmine and passionflower.PALATE: The attack is juicy clean, slightly saline, on notes of passionfruit and citrus. The fresh pithy acidity and mineral character, reminiscent of fine absinthe, fresh ginger and gentian bitters give the wine a lot of vinosity and masculine personality, well balanced by the honey notes and creamy texture of the Semillon and showing exceptional length.
