  1. Powell And Son Brennecker Grenache 2015

Brennecker Grenache - 98 Points, www.robertparker.com, "Coming from Torbreck’s former Les Amis vineyard in Seppeltsfield (planted in 1901 and dry grown), the 2015 Brennecker Grenache sports a medium ruby-purple color and exotic spice notes over baked raspberries, cherry cordial and dried herbs with suggestions of anise, roses and tar. Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth, the palate is silken-textured with seductive flavor layers and wonderful poise, finishing long and spicy."

  2. Jc's Own Project Ferine Grenache 2019

"I love grenache, I love its versatility and it’s drinkability. I was mostly drawn to getting involved with the process and leaning to more textural, structured and savoury versions. then one day I got to thinking, what about just doing nothing and let the grapes do the work. So I chucked a few bins of hand picked grenache grapes into a tank with a bit of co2, sealed the lid and came back several weeks later. When I lifted the lid I was hit with a whole lot of gassy funk, but in a really good way. It was wild and feral but mostly intoxicating. So for a few weeks after i just jumped on top of these bunches, breaking them up, in real terms to build structure, but mostly to get lost in the ferine like smells that filled the air." 3. Jc's Own Project Mjc Rockit Gcsm 2018

"It’s thick and slick with deep flavour, inky consistency, muscular tannins and a soft, syrupy finish. All that said there’s a tension in the wine despite the heft and flavours, though mostly about ripe berry, plummy fruit, show licks of sarsaparilla, savoury spice and malt with some meatiness. It rolls full and ponderous through the palate in the best possible way. It’s a thumper done with shape and form in mind. It’s very good." 94 Points -Mike Bennie, The Wine Front.

  4. Jc's Own Project Angaston Foothills Grenache 2018

"150 year old bush vines in the Angaston Foothills, a rare treat...100% whole bunches get a foot treading over several weeks, I press it to large oak barrels and bottle it unfined and unfiltered. That means when I taste this wine I’m still caught up in the magic from the vineyard that has transpired for well over a century. I’ll wipe the tear from my eye as I have another glass."Jaysen’s Notes

  7. Juxtaposed Old Vine Grenache 2017

"Grenache from Clarendon (Smart) planted 1921, and Blewitt Springs (Wait) planted 1942. No additions. Old large format oak. No additions. No fining. No filtration. Perfume and softness here. A little spice, rose water and milk chocolate, mint, red fruits. Supple and nutty, almost a praline quality in both flavour and tannin profile. Smooth. Charming. Powdery tannin reaches out on the finish, and all that rose perfume wafts out. Graceful. Good now, but no hurry."94 Points, Gary Walsh- The Wine Front.

  8. Vino Votla Post Modern Seriousism Grenache 2019

"This is real good. Blistering acidity through a sluice of just ripe cherry/sour cherry tang, with cranberry juice and its associated chalkiness punching through the finish. Elements of farmhouse cider here too. It’s got lots going on with deliciousness and freshness its key selling points. Pops out of the glass. It’s great." 93 Points, Mike Bennie - The Wine Front.

"The bottle, the cork (indifferent) and the price all have the US written on them, but this is in fact a seriously good grenache, with great colour and mouthfeel to its perfectly ripened, deep and luscious fruit." 96 Points, James Halliday. Tasted 26/07/2009.
