  1. Penfolds Grange Shiraz 1971

"Medium brick colored, the 1971 Grange opens with touches of aldehyde / bottle-stink to begin over a core of fruit cake, leather, potpourri, game and sandalwood. With an elegant light to medium-body, the palate blossoms into incredible spice box, anise and mincemeat notes - wonderful multi-layered flavors – supported by a good backbone of remaining fine-grained tannins and lively acid. It’s a classic Grange in terms of construction, though a little atypical considering its pretty rather than powerful nature."  96 Lisa Perrotti Brown, Wine Advocate.

  3. Penfolds Block 42 Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

96 Points, James Halliday's Wine Companion, "Medium to full red-purple; a paradigm of everything Cabernet Sauvignon should be: the fragrant cassis/redcurrant fruit and perfect oak integration of the bouquet is followed by an intensely flavoured yet elegant wine on a very long palate flooded with cassis and redcurrant fruit, and crowned with fine tannins on the finish."

  4. Powell And Son Kraehe Shiraz 2015

Kraehe Shiraz - 99 Points, www.robertparker.com, "From a tiny, one hectare, 110-year-old vineyard in Barossa Valley’s Marananga subregion, the 2015 Kraehe Shiraz (pronounced kray) has a deep garnet-purple color and profoundly scented nose of blackberry and blueberry preserves, dried plums and mulberries with salami and fertile earth undertones, plus hints of marmite toast, asphalt and licorice. The full-bodied palate packs in the flavor layers with the voluptuous fruit superbly framed by firm, rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with epic length. Give this sexy Shiraz another 2-3 years in bottle and drink it over the next 25+ years. 155 cases were made."

  5. Greenock Creek Roennfeldt Road Caberent 1998

".. This is a full-bodied red with a finish that lasts well over 60 seconds. For its size and concentration, it is, surprisingly, not heavy, just super-endowed. The Cabernet Sauvignon needs 2-3 more years of cellaring, and should drink well for two decades. Unfortunately, quantities are extremely limited for this spectacular, world-class Australian red. Roennfeldt Road." 100 Points, Robert Parker. 25/10/2004.

  7. Powell And Son Brennecker Grenache 2015

Brennecker Grenache - 98 Points, www.robertparker.com, "Coming from Torbreck’s former Les Amis vineyard in Seppeltsfield (planted in 1901 and dry grown), the 2015 Brennecker Grenache sports a medium ruby-purple color and exotic spice notes over baked raspberries, cherry cordial and dried herbs with suggestions of anise, roses and tar. Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth, the palate is silken-textured with seductive flavor layers and wonderful poise, finishing long and spicy."

  8. Torbreck Runrig Shiraz 2017

"As usual, the 2017 RunRig is approximately 2% Viognier. It spent almost 30 months in oak, 40% of which was new. Hints of peach or apricot appear on the nose, alongside notes of hickory smoke, cherries and baking spices. It’s full-bodied and concentrated but supple and silky enough to seem lighter in the mouth, showing tremendous length and elegance on the finish, where it adds nuances of cinnamon and cocoa."98 PointsJoe Czerwinski - The Wine Advocate

  10. Schwarz Wine Company Loveday Shiraz 2016

Winemaker's notes. Once in a while, a parcel of wine stands out. When I tasted my 2016 wines, it was clear that this Shiraz from Ken Loveday’s Moppa vineyard is one of those wines. It is an exceptional barrel of Barossa Shiraz that deserves to stand alone as my first single barrel release.
