"The 2021 Wood's Paddock Shiraz is a collaboration between Hesket Estate and Altera Terra and features fruit from Rod Lee's Wood's Paddock vineyard in Avoca. On the nose, we are offered bacon fat and cracked rocks, rose petals, pomegranate and graphite. The palate is a reflection of the nose, with silky fruit that has both presence and weight. With brown leaves and sweet roasted bone marrow, there is an inherent delicacy here that is ultra attractive, and cocoa powder is woven through the finish. This has all the feel of a long-aging wine, both for the balance now and the persistent finish."
