Notes
"Sourced from 1965 Rosehill plantings, with a dash of Pinot Noir and Tempranillo.
GW: Rosy, cherry and raspberry, a little liquorice root, iodine and biscuit. Medium-bodied, juicy red fruits, more supple tannin, kind of fleshy, pleasing mouth-perfume, finish of good length, with a light grainy chew to tannin, but a quiet succulence here. Nutty flavours in the mix. So charming. 94+ points.
KS: Cherries and violets, almond blossom, it has a similar steely tension, slate-like minerality to OP&OH, with cool smooth tannins. Red plums, it’s fine and feels complete and well-balanced, a bit ‘safe’ in that way, cosy and pleasing. There’s more pristine ripe red cherry and a bit of nuttiness in the back, marzipan perhaps and a spiced red plum finish. Tasty mix. 94 points
