Notes
You’d be hard-pressed to find a more sinewy Barossa shiraz. This wine is ripe and even fruit-driven but it’s not plush or thick or even dense. It’s medium in weight, smoky, twiggy, red berried as much as black, and carries a Lillee-like necklace of tannin that is so long that it dangles right back through the wine, almost to the start. I’m tempted now to say that you could easily yank this wine’s chain, but that doesn’t make sense, so I won’t. The point is that we have a nebbiolo-like expression of Barossa shiraz here, and a balanced one, and a gently reductive one, and one indeed of high interest. It will be fascinating to see how it develops. Rated : 94 Points Tasted : Nov23
