Notes
Tis the season. This is blend No.17, disgorged August 2022. Last year, CM quipped that ‘Walsh tastes all the Turkey Flat wines, except for the sparkling Shiraz’. I added a comma to his quote to improve readability. Aside that, I have a long memory.
Rich plum cake, dark chocolate and liquroice, baking spice, maybe even a little violet perfume. It’s bold and rich, lots of cakey dark flavour, some raspberry, though does lean into a savoury new leather and salty beef sort of thing. Bubbles are fine enough, and the whole thing works pretty well (given it’s Sparkling Shiraz). Finish is solid, with a cinch of quinine bitterness. A bit chunky, but quite good.
