Notes
"Likely heretical to say, but quite often I prefer a Langhe Neb over some wineries’ Barolo offerings, well, at least in the short term. I enjoy the freshness and more joyous expressions of Nebbiolo for what they are. Anyway, 2021 seemingly, from what I’ve tasted from bottle and barrel, a very good vintage in Piedmont. I’d have tasted roughly 200 wines in the last week or so (excluding unfinished wines), so got a decent picture of what’s going on. This wine had only been bottled for a month at time of tasting last week.
Red fruit, cherry, almond, perfume and freshness. Just over medium-bodied, pure and fine, a little aniseed and tobacco in with those bright red fruits, fine grip of tannin, and a long red fruit and savoury finish. Pure and vibrant, and wonderful to drink. Give it a year and it will reward you handsomely, not least at such a modest price."
