94 points From a Clare Valley vineyard which was originally planted in 1920, the wine receives maturation in older French hogsheads and puncheons for a year. A fine example of those more serious reds from Grenache. The wine has a slightly pale crimson hue. We have a nose exhibiting aromas of strawberries, spices, red fruits and florals. There is a very gentle touch of oak here, well integrated with good acidity and very good length. This is fresh and enticing, but is also going to be here for the long haul thanks to plenty of slightly sandy tannins. Enjoy it now and any time over the next eight years.
